Many pieces of literature have been banned across the world for many centuries. Each banning and

censorship holds its own story of oppression. Whether condemned by governments, or churches, or

citizens who lack a sense of understanding and acceptance, all of these books have been in some way

challenged.

In an age in which the world is easily able to jump from continent to continent on an airplane, and

share ideas in seconds over the world wide web, it has grown increasingly important that we

understand other cultures outside of our own communities. This site stands as a plea to keep our eyes

open to the diversity of the world. This site stands as a plea to keep our minds open to ideas that differ

from our own. This site stands as a plea to keep our hearts open to all.

Stand against oppression and support your local library, read a banned book today!
